ワイブル分布の統計的推測に関して主にパラメータ推定の観点から最近の研究動向を含め総合的に述べる．2パラメータワイブル分布についても触れるが, 推定に関して問題の多い3パラメータワイブル分布についての議論が中心となる．問題点とは，大きく, 1) 非正則性, 2) パラメータの発散であり, このことに触れた後, それらの回避策についても紹介する．また, 最近提案されているワイブル分布の拡張モデルや一般化モデルについても簡単に述べる．最後に, 実際にコンピュータを用いてパラメータ推定を行う場合のアルゴリズムやその計算環境について紹介する．

Statistical Inference (mainly for parameter estimation) on the Weibull distribution including recent research trend is generally described. The three-parameter Weibull model is the main subject here, but the two-parameter Weibull distribution is also mentioned briefly. Two major problems have been reported in the three-parameter model; one is the non-regularity, and the other is the parameter divergence problem. How we can circumvent these problems is briefly introduced. The extended Weibull and the generalized Weibull distributions are mentioned. The algorithms and computer implementation for the parameter estimation are demonstrated.
